Whistle Bear - Cambridge, Ontario Wedding - Alex & Matt get married!

After a long cold winter in Ontario, it seems as though we have finally been blessed with nice Spring weather! Alex & Matt's gorgeous wedding at Cambridge's eloquent Whistle Bear Golf and Country Club couldn't have been nicer!

All in all, it really was one of those weddings where I felt like I could have been wearing a bridesmaid dress and gotten away with it. The entire wedding party were so amazing, fun, chill, happy go lucky, quick to smile, gorgeous, full of laughs, and 100% totally there for their friends Alex and Matt.

What made this wedding one-of-a-kind for me, was the fact that the brides gorgeous mum HANDMADE the wedding gown! AND ALL the bouquets/boutonnieres! The level of talent and creativity displayed at this wedding and by the bride and her mum was astounding. I have SO much appreciation for crafty talented folks! The bride and groom had informed me that they had been very hands on with all their wedding decor and details, which I love. It just has this way of adding a super personal touch to the day, and having your personality shine through all those little magical touches that make the day even more memorable.

It made me so happy to have been there for them that day, and I'm pleased to post some fun samplers from their day. As always, Whistle Bear shined with their impeccable service, and luxurious venue. A very big thank you, Whistle Bear for being such amazing hosts!

What a Whirlwind!

It's been a long time since I've sat down and created a blog post. To say its been busy just doesn't describe what a chaotic, whirlwind of a wedding season it's been.

And throw in the excitement of renovating a new studio on top of it all! Thats right, next week at this time, I should be in Herakovic Photography's brand new 1900 sq.ft studio!

I've laughed, cried, screamed, wanted to hide away, give up, push forward, been overwhelmed, doubted myself, reassured myself.... any emotion you can think of, I've experienced it. But finally, there is light at the end of the tunnel, and its happening. The moving company is coming next Wednesday and that will be that.

Throughout all this studio ruckus, has been several fabulous weddings and other fun photoshoots. Most recently was a wedding with two modelesque individuals who are madly in love with each other. Their families and friends were all so amazing, and the love they shared, the support they offered was undeniably beautiful.

Melanie and Mackenzie's wedding day went off without a hitch, although there was a few spots of rain, it didn't stop us and definitely didn't shake the smiles off anyones face. I'm truly in love with the photos and memories we created that day. John and I chatted about it and agreed it was one of our faves.

Mr & Mrs. King and co.

This past weekend, John J and I had the distinct pleasure of photographing 2 very fabulous people as they said "I Do" and sealed the deal.

It was a special day for me personally, as I had known Mrs. King for a few years and watching the evolution of her from falling in love, to them creating an obscenely gorgeous little man together, and finally bringing their 2 families together. I consider her a friend first and my gorgeous bride second. Her handsome groom was not hard on their eyes either, not to mention the rest of their clan. All outfitted in the most adorable little bow ties, and black converse sneakers, this group had it going on!

Mrs. K's grace and beauty throughout the day was truly that of royalty. She was always smiling, and poised, the perfect picture of a perfect bride. There was NO Bridezilla here on this magnificent day! Weddings always have a way of bringing out the best and the worst in people, and in my experience, its rarely the bride and groom who are leave any good behaviour to be desired. *wink*
