Beautiful Williamsburg Maternity Session - Kira + Al

A Maternity session at a cemetery? Who would have ever thought!? I arrived at Williamsburg Cemetery kind of excited, and for a few reasons... One of my first weddings I ever photographed took place at the chapel here, and also one of the nicest creative sessions I photographed here ended up in our local Wedding Trends magazine! I have warm and fuzzy feelings about this place. On a deeper level, part of me thinks that those who are laid to rest here might enjoy all the life and joy that people bring when they visit a cemetery for happier reasons other than burials.

Kira, Al and their fur baby 'Anfeild' are expecting their new little person in just a few short weeks! Which means I'll get my hands on a precious little bundle very soon at the studio for a newborn session!

The grounds at Williamsburg are meticulously kept, beautifully manicured and its obvious that many hours and love go into maintaining this lovely venue. But there is also a section on the grounds that have been left natural, wild and free. This is where we ended up!

If you or someone you know is expecting a new arrival and would like more information about my popular "Bump-to-Baby" photo packages, reach out today!

I hope you enjoy the photos Al, Kira and I created of their special time. :-)

Gorgeous Victoria Park Maternity Session - Jeni & Roly

About a week and half ago I met up with a super special Mommy-to-Be and her handsome husband at Victoria park, here in Kitchener. I stepped out of the car, turned the corner and saw them and pretty much stopped dead in my tracks. They were dressed head-to-toe glam-gorgeous! Jen, who has been my wonderfully talented hair stylist for a long time, was wearing the prettiest, most delicate, feminine flowy gown in a soft pink. Hair and makeup to the nine's and Roly, was just as smartly dressed in a dress shirt and sport jacket. Well you'll see what I mean by there photos below. I literally told them I could have put the camera on a tripod that day because everything they game me was gold. Pure magic. Every shot was just to die for. To say this couple has style might be a slight understatement, but one thing I know for sure is that this little princess that's on her way is going to born with excellent taste, and just beautiful parents, inside and out. These two share such a special connection, and their love for one another is beyond evident. Their love together made me smile and it seemed the sun shined a little brighter when they were around.

It was such a privilege photographing Jeni and Roly, and I can't wait to photograph their new little person once she arrives!

If you or someone you know is expecting a little one, get in touch today about setting up a stunning Maternity session, and let's make some magic together!

Waterloo Ontario Maternity Session

On Mothers Day Sunday, I met up with expectant new parents Isabelle & Brady for a visit and to capture some memories of this special time in their lives. We met up at Grey Silo, which is one of my favourite spots in Waterloo to photograph. The old barn buildings, trees, and bluffs make for the perfect backdrop for anyone looking for natural outdoor photos.

Isabelle and Brady haven't found out the sex of their little baby and its so obvious how excited they are to meet this new little person. As exciting as pregnancy can be, it comes with its challenges, from swollen feet and sleepless uncomfortable nights, to a new mum's ever changing body. There is no price parents wouldn't pay for the moment that arrives where they find themselves looking down at a beautiful healthy new baby that love created.

Having Maternity photos done is a wonderful reminder of the journey a woman goes through to achieve the ultimate gift of life. To be able to look back one day at who she was at that moment, to be reminded of all the wondrous changes, and to know a new life-love was growing healthily inside her tummy is absolutely magical. One day she will be able to show and share the photos with her child and tell all the stories of the pregnancy and how that precious life came to be.

Soon the baby will be born, and my beautiful client will regain her body. Maybe some of the memories of the moment-to-moment journey through pregnancy will fade, but it is my hope that these photos will help commemorate this beautiful time.

Here are some of the memories we created together:
