What a Whirlwind!

It's been a long time since I've sat down and created a blog post. To say its been busy just doesn't describe what a chaotic, whirlwind of a wedding season it's been.

And throw in the excitement of renovating a new studio on top of it all! Thats right, next week at this time, I should be in Herakovic Photography's brand new 1900 sq.ft studio!

I've laughed, cried, screamed, wanted to hide away, give up, push forward, been overwhelmed, doubted myself, reassured myself.... any emotion you can think of, I've experienced it. But finally, there is light at the end of the tunnel, and its happening. The moving company is coming next Wednesday and that will be that.

Throughout all this studio ruckus, has been several fabulous weddings and other fun photoshoots. Most recently was a wedding with two modelesque individuals who are madly in love with each other. Their families and friends were all so amazing, and the love they shared, the support they offered was undeniably beautiful.

Melanie and Mackenzie's wedding day went off without a hitch, although there was a few spots of rain, it didn't stop us and definitely didn't shake the smiles off anyones face. I'm truly in love with the photos and memories we created that day. John and I chatted about it and agreed it was one of our faves.

New Life - Newborn Session Previews

Today I was blessed to spend some time with one of beautiful former brides and grooms, and their newly expanded family. Its such gift for me to be included in the lives of my clients and to be considered, "photographer for life" is indescribable for me!

Their latest addition comes in the form of a perfect little boy named Grayson. It was a quiet, calm and casual session in the privacy of their new home. I loved seeing them again and seeing their breathtaking babies. Their first son, Ashton is such a beautiful soul, greeting me at the door with Grandma saying, "Come in!". So heartwarming.

I brought him a few little Easter chocolates to which his excited response was, "Oh Dear!" and "goodness!". Omgoodness, I couldn't have melted on the spot!!

I'm constantly surrounded by so many beautiful individuals, and with it the reminder of how blessed I am to be apart of their special day. They enrich my life and in turn I offer a creative interpretation of their magical day.

T'n'T wedding Day!

I met Theresa and Thirstan a year ago this January. It's been so awesome getting to know them. I'm constantly saddened by the fact they live in Ottawa and I only sometimes get to see them! Definitely peeps that I'd want to hand out with on the regular.

They pretty much planned their wedding 'long distance' but I was blown away with all the gorgeous details that made their day even more beautiful. From the dress, to the shoes, the flowers, the change in hair styles from a 'Day' to 'Night' look, it seemed that nothing was unaccounted for!

I especially loved that photography and documenting their special day was an uber important part of their day. They wanted to go all out and have a full 12 hour day. And so it was.

John and I started bright and early at 10am, and finished a staggering 12 hours later. The day simply flew by, and we barely noticed until we woke up the next day and felt our sore feet!

Love is in the air!

Shame on me for not making time for my beloved blog! Usually in the winter things slow down and I get fat on the couch watching 6 season's worth of some kind of tv series. Not this winter!

3 gorgeous winter weddings, lots of photoshoots, and a Valentine's Day fundraiser to benefit a charity which is dear to our family's heart, the KW Alzheimer Society.

I whipped together 2 different sets for some fun and adorable Valentines' day photos. Here are a few images that I absolutely LOVE! The Easter sets are already in production and dates will be announced for another fast and fun mini session!
